Developed by the Mississippi Housing Institute, the Certified Professional Builder Program is designed to offer benefits to both the builder and the homebuyer.

The opportunity to pursue professional development through continuing education and additional resources offered by the program such as:

	Use of the Homeowner Handbook.
	Sample contracts and other formal documents.
	Press releases.
	Listing on the CPB website.
	Links to and from the CPB website.
	Advertising of the CPB program.

Homebuyers benefit through...

The knowledge that when they make what is usually considered their single largest and most important investment they are protected by:

	Binding arbitration offered with each home.
	Standards set forth in the Homeowner Handbook
	Choosing a builder with appropriate insurance coverage including builders risk, general liability, and worker's compensation.
	Choosing a builder who has pledged to adhere to the National Association of Home Builders Code of Ethics.

The Mississippi Housing Institute uses its best efforts to determine a builder's qualifications for certification as a Certified Professional Builder. While the program recognizes the professionalism of a builder, the Mississippi Housing Institute does not make any warranty or representation, expressed or implied, to homebuyers or others and has not inspected the construction of any home and, therefore, does not and cannot address the specific quality of a new home. The homebuyer is encouraged to discuss the program with his or her Certified Professional Builder and to contact the Mississippi Housing Institute for more specific information about the program.
